And he said, I will not let thee go, except thou bless me. 27 And he said unto him, What is thy name? 1. Standing on the promises of Christ my King,
through eternal ages let his praises ring;
glory in the highest, I will shout and sing,
standing on the promises of God.
Refrain:
Standing, standing,
standing on the promises of Christ my Savior;
standing, standing,
I'm standing on the promises of God.
2. Standing on the promises that cannot fail,
when the howling storms of doubt and fear assail,
by the living Word of God I shall prevail,
standing on the promises of God.
(Refrain)
3. Standing on the promises of Christ the Lord,
bound to him eternally by love's strong cord,
overcoming daily with the Spirit's sword,
standing on the promises of God.
(Refrain)
4. Standing on the promises I cannot fall,
listening every moment to the Spirit's call,
resting in my Savior as my all in all,
standing on the promises of God.
(Refrain)
I’m pressing on the upward way,
New heights I’m gaining every day;
Still praying as I onward bound,
“Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.”
Lord, lift me up, and let me stand
By faith on Canaan’s tableland;
A higher plane than I have found,
Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.
My heart has no desire to stay
Where doubts arise and fears dismay;
Though some may dwell where these abound,
My prayer, my aim, is higher ground.
I want to live above the world,
Though Satan’s darts at me are hurled;
For faith has caught the joyful sound,
The song of saints on higher ground.
I want to scale the utmost height
And catch a gleam of glory bright;
But still I’ll pray till rest I’ve found,
“Lord, lead me on to higher ground.”

Your light and salvation (Psalm 27:1-14)

Your light and salvation (Psalm 27:1-14)
Matthew 6:22
The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. 23 But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness! Job 32:8 But there is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding.
A lot of people grope about in darkness spiritually. They wander without the real life purpose and care less about spiritual things. Spiritual things? Yes, the earlier everyone understands that she or he is spiritual the better. Do you know you are spiritual? I am not talking about religion. I am talking about the real essence of your personality. You are deeper than you think and I think the creator made it so.
Psalm 139:14
I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.
The only reason why such people grope in darkness is just because they are still struggling with or perhaps have not heard of the real light of the world and of all humanity.
John 8:12
Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
To such people even the nearest future is so bleak that they cannot discern today. It is necessary to emphasis how much you need the light. In fact more you need the physical light in your house and environment. Light is so indispensable, but as it were light is available even in the physical realm but not everyone is able to see it. This could be so frustrating. That is exactly the same thing that happens in the spiritual realm. Spiritual light is available but not everyone is able to see it and use it. Not everyone even care whether there is any light anywhere. This is the reason why they are groping in darkness.
John 9:39
And Jesus said, For judgment I am come into this world, that they which see not might see; and that they which see might be made blind. 40 And some
of the Pharisees which were with him heard these words, and said unto him, Are we blind also? 41 Jesus said unto them, If ye were blind, ye should have no sin: but now ye say, We see; therefore your sin remaineth.
Light is so indispensable for the eye to function. Have you ever experienced a total darkness, may be in a dark room or dark night? How useful was your eye at that point? Nearly useless. This is because the eye can only see when light is present. This is the same thing in the spiritual realm. It is so frustrating if there is no light around you physically or spiritually. You need the light today.
Jeremiah 6:16
Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.
As for David, he knew that the only light that can light his realms sufficiently enough is Christ. Even though he lived several thousands of years before Christ was born he knew well enough that Christ is the light of the world. More than this he knew that the same person is both the light and the salvation. He is the guide through life and eternity.
John 14:6
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
This is a great lesson for us. We claim to be more modern, civilised and up to date than the olden days people. This might be true to a large extent, but we need to be up to date spiritually as well. You need Jesus Christ as your light and salvation. Not only is Jesus the light spiritually, he is the light physically as well. That is why any person, any nation and any people that do not have Christ will still continue to grope in darkness.
John 10:9
I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. 10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it
more abundantly. 11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.
Are you tired of groping in darkness? Are you sick of the constant fear of the unknown? Are you scared of the eternity to come? Do you discard the realm of the spirit as non existent for fear of something too deep? Turn your life to Jesus Christ today and you will have enough light to see what lies ahead. You will have the author and finisher of spiritual salvation. You can even do it now as well as renew your commitment to the Lord of your salvation. God bless you.

Peace be still (Matthew 14:22-33)

Peace be still (Matthew 14:22-33)
John 14:27
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
After the feeding of the 5,000, Jesus was not done yet in proving his sonship, power and grace. He straightaway went to pray and told his disciples to move ahead across the sea. He sent them on their journey and went to have fellowship with God his father. When he was done praying, he moved by his supernatural strength to join the disciples. By this time they were really struggling with the wind. Just at the point of their despair, Jesus showed up.
Isaiah 43:2
When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.
May Jesus show up in any area of life you are struggling today in the name of Jesus.
His appearance was more trouble at first because he was coming in his supernatural power, walking on the sea. He knows they were troubled so he spoke a word of comfort, it is I, do not be afraid.
Isaiah 40:1
Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God. 2 Speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem, and cry unto her, that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned: for she hath received of the LORD'S hand double for all her sins.
Peter was excited but the wind was till on. Peter asked Jesus, whoa, you are walking on the water despite the wind, can I come with you as well? Yes come. Peter was focused on Jesus for a while and without thinking he jumped on the water and started walking. This is enough to confuse your analysis. According to a man of God, if you analyse God, you paralyse yourself.
Job 9:10 Which doeth great things past finding out; yea, and wonders without number. 11 Lo, he goeth by me, and I see him not: he passeth on also, but I perceive him not. 12 Behold, he taketh away, who can hinder him? who will say unto him, What doest thou? Romans 11:33 O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out! Job 26:13 By his spirit he hath garnished the heavens; his hand hath formed the crooked serpent. 14 Lo, these are parts of his ways: but how little a portion is heard of him? but the thunder of his power who can understand?
Both the occurrence and the lessons are very important to us. Before any major breakthrough there are likely to be a lot of contrary winds most times. At the end of the wind comes your breakthrough. Are you facing any contrary wind anywhere? Look ahead, the wind has just come to announce your promotion and breakthrough.
John 16:21
A woman when she is in travail hath sorrow, because her hour is come: but as soon as she is delivered of the child, she remembereth no more the anguish, for joy that a man is born into the world.
When Peter focused on Jesus, he walked on the sea but when he gazed at the wind, he sank. Don’t you know what I mean keep your focus on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will sail the vicissitudes of life with ease.
Job 14:1
Man that is born of a woman is of few days, and full of trouble.
Even when Peter started to sink, he knew what to do. He didn’t curse his stars and insult his maker, he called on Jesus to save him.
Romans 10:12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. 13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Why don’t you learn to call out to Jesus even if you don’t know him yet and he will reach out to save you. He is even inviting you everyday. Yield unto him today and it shall be well with you.
Matthew 11:28
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Then Jesus demonstrated his authority over the wind. He spoke authoritatively, peace be still. And it was so. I speak by the authority of Jesus today to every turbulence in your health, your job, your marriage, your education, your business, your social status, your spiritual status, in fact all aspects of your troubled life, PEACE BE STILL IN THE NAME OF JESUS. amen

The bones that never died. (Ezekiel 37:1-14)

The bones that never died. (Ezekiel 37:1-14)
2Kings 13:21
And it came to pass, as they were burying a man, that, behold, they spied a band of men; and they cast the man into the sepulchre of Elisha: and when the man was let down, and touched the bones of Elisha, he revived, and stood up on his feet.
We all agree that bones are very important in our body. In addition to giving structures and stability, bones protect the body and help in all our movement as human beings.
Job 10:11
Thou hast clothed me with skin and flesh, and hast fenced me with bones and sinews.
Just as bones are important in the physical, they do have spiritual significance as well. In fact when David sinned he recounted how his bones were broken even without a physical fall and prayed that God should heal his broken bones.
Psalm 51:8
Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice. 31:10 For my life is spent with grief, and my years with sighing: my strength faileth because of mine iniquity, and my bones are consumed. 38:3 There is no soundness in my flesh because of thine anger; neither is there any rest in my bones because of my sin.
It actually seems that the physical bones have a way they connect our physical body to our spiritual essence. Nevertheless, Jesus confirmed that spirit being themselves have no bones and flesh as we do, but we might think that our present bone may contain the nucleus of what God will use to form our celestial bodies.
Luke 24:39
Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.
There even seems to be some spiritual elements in our physical bones.
Proverbs 17:22
A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones. Ezekiel 32:27 And they shall not lie with the mighty that are fallen of the uncircumcised, which are gone down to hell with their weapons of war: and they have laid their swords under their heads, but their iniquities shall be upon their bones, though they were the terror of the mighty in the land of the living.
For one, the bible recorded some sacred facts about bones. Every time corpses are buried, the place the bones lie have a great significance in Israel. Joseph pleaded with his brothers not allow his bones to sleep in a foreign land and the brothers adhered to this after his death.
Genesis 50:25
And Joseph took an oath of the children of Israel, saying, God will surely visit you, and ye shall carry up my bones from hence. Exodus 13:19
And Moses took the bones of Joseph with him: for he had straitly sworn the children of Israel, saying, God will surely visit you; and ye shall carry up my bones away hence with you.
At the valley of dry bones, God taught Ezekiel a serious lesson that is capable of universal interpretations. Whereas the Israelites thought their hope is gone, God was saying something different. For as many who think their hope is gone, what God is saying is that the dry bones will live again. Your dry bones will live again. Your hope will be resurrected and will blossom. The power of God will put live in you again. All Ezekiel had to do was to listen to God and follow his instructions. This could be madatoy at some point in our lives.
Jeremiah 20:9
Then I said, I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in his name. But his word
was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay.
He was asked to speak a word at a time, a positive word no doubt backed by the power of God. Why don’t you take a second look at that scary situation in your life and see it with the eye of God. Why don’t you take another step and speak a change, a resurrection, a life to that seemingly dead, hopeless situation? It worked for Jeremiah, it will work for you as well because the same God who worked during the time of Jeremiah and Ezekiel is at work today.
Those bones are not actually dead. They are only preserving the future, the endangered destiny. They might seem dry and lifeless, they are not dead. There is life in the dry bones. There is victory in the structure. There is revival in the movement. There is miracle if you dare. Trust God and obey his instructions, you will see his might in display. Those dry bones are the bones that never died. Call them to action. God bless you.
